Data Deletion
Last updated
You can ask us to delete the personal data we hold about you at any time. This page explains what we store, how to ask, what happens next, and the small set of records we are required to keep.
1. What we store about you
Depending on how you have dealt with Hauzisha, we may hold any of the following:
- Your name, email, phone number and country, from an enquiry or guide download
- WhatsApp message history with our team
- Listing enquiries and viewing requests you sent us
- Clicks on tracking links from our marketing channels, anonymised after 90 days
- Account data if you signed up as an agent, promoter or admin: profile, role, permissions and activity
2. How to request deletion
Either route reaches the same support team and starts the same 30 day window. Use whichever is easier.
- Email support@hauzisha.co.ke with the subject “Data Deletion Request”
- Message us on WhatsApp at +254 715 380 296
Include the name, email and phone number you used with us so we can find your records. If you used more than one, list each of them.
3. What happens next
- We confirm we have your request within 2 business days.
- We check it is really you. A reply from the email we hold is usually enough; where we only have a phone number we may ask a verification question.
- We delete your personal records within 30 calendar days and confirm in writing once it is done.
4. What we may keep
A small set of records survives a deletion request, because the law or fraud prevention requires it:
- Transaction records, where a sale or commission was processed, for the period Kenyan tax law requires
- Anti-fraud signals, as hashed phone or email fingerprints, used to stop known bad actors re-registering
- Aggregate, anonymised analytics that cannot be traced back to you
Nothing we keep can be used to contact you, market to you, or identify you to anyone else.
