Syokimau has different houses, even though the most common are gated communities, with 2,3, and 4-bedroom apartments.

  • Bungalows – Mostly found along Mwanainchi road, in the Gateway Mall area, you will find them for rent. Parliament road, there are also bungalows on own compound.
  • Apartments/Flats – You can find them along Beijing Road, about 800 meters from Mombasa Road, there are apartments/ flats. At Five Star Gardens, behind Gateway mall, there are master- ensuite apartments, and in this same area, there are also maisonettes in gated communities.
  • Townhouses– You will find townhouses along Mwanainchi Road.

1-bedroom apartments, mainly with a floor size of about 30 m² and also 2-bedroom apartments/flats. 3-bedroom master ensuite apartments are also available with a floor size of about 105 m² - 230 m².


3-bedroom maisonettes with a floor size of approximately 300 m².


3-bedroom bungalows sitting on a 1/4 acre of land with Erf size of 156 m². 4-bedroom bungalows with a building area of 210 m².


4-bedroom townhouse with a building area of 200 m² - 300m m²

Single rooms and bedsitters are rare, but you can get one at about Ksh. 4,000 and Ksh. 7,000 respectively.

Most houses in Syokimau are apartments/flats in gated communities, especially in the areas closer to Mombasa Road.


Bungalows on 1/4acre land with a building size of 200 m² are found on Katani Road and areas not close to the main highway.


Some townhouses are built on 0.12 acres of land with a floor size of 300 m².

  • Variety of local and international schools in Syokimau to choose from for parents
  • Availability of medical facilities in Syokimau, such as Aga Khan University Medical Center.

  • Syokimau is one of the fast-growing areas, and it has seen an increase in rental prices within the past 3-4 years.
  • Syokimau's proximity to companies such as the Standard Group has increased the demand for houses, thus pushing up the cost of the rent.
  • Air pollution due to existence of many factories.
